Checklist item 1: measure after wrapping

Do not approve pallet height from carton math alone. Measure after the pallet base, top sheet, corner boards, wrap, and any edge protection are complete, because that final wrapped height is what the trucker and warehouse will handle.

Checklist item 2: match the China build to the US delivery plan

If the shipment will move from China through air freight, customs, and onward delivery to an FBA warehouse or prep center, the pallet dimensions should already match the receiving plan. Rebuilding a pallet after US arrival adds cost, delay, and damage risk.

Checklist item 3: stabilize the load

Keep heavier cartons at the bottom, avoid leaning columns, prevent carton overhang, and make sure labels remain visible after wrapping. Tall pallets that technically fit the limit can still fail if they shift in transit or cannot be handled safely.

Checklist item 4: update the paperwork

Final pallet height, pallet count, gross weight, and shipment references should be consistent across the packing list, BOL details, forwarder handoff, and appointment notes. A data mismatch can create a failed delivery even when the freight itself is acceptable.

Checklist item 5: split when stability is weak

If one tall pallet saves only a small amount of handling cost but increases rejection risk, split the load into shorter stable pallets. For China to US FBA freight, avoiding rework is usually cheaper than forcing the tallest possible build.
