Why pallet rules matter
A pallet that is too tall, unstable, unlabeled, or built with overhanging cartons can be delayed before Amazon receiving. The cost is rarely just a rework fee; it can also create stockout risk and appointment delays.
Before the factory ships
Confirm whether goods should leave the factory floor-loaded, loose-carton, or palletized. If a China warehouse will palletize, provide carton labels, shipment IDs, packing list, and destination instructions early.
Pallet build quality
Use a clean pallet in good condition, stack cartons squarely, avoid overhang, use enough wrap, protect corners when needed, and keep labels visible. The goal is a load that survives trucking, warehouse handling, and final delivery.
Single-SKU vs mixed pallets
Single-SKU pallets are usually simpler for receiving. Mixed pallets need clearer carton labeling and documentation because Amazon must be able to identify the contents without unnecessary confusion.
Delivery appointment impact
Pallet count and dimensions affect the carrier booking and appointment. If the shipment changes after booking, update the forwarder before delivery so the appointment and BOL stay aligned.
