Cheapest is not always lowest quote

The cheapest method is the one with the lowest reliable landed cost per unit after freight, customs, prep, delivery, and time risk. A low freight quote can become expensive if it causes delays or rework.

Small shipment logic

For very small shipments, express can be operationally simple, but the per-unit cost is often high. If the goods are not urgent, compare air freight and LCL before choosing express.

LCL vs FCL

LCL is usually practical when volume is too small for a container. FCL becomes attractive when shipment volume is large enough to absorb container cost and reduce handling complexity.

Reduce avoidable costs

Confirm carton dimensions, avoid overpacking, ship enough units to spread fixed fees, prepare clean documents, prevent Amazon label errors, and avoid last-minute mode changes caused by late production.

Inventory timing

Ocean is cheap only if you book early enough. If inventory is close to stockout, the cheapest financial choice may be a split shipment: urgent units by air and the rest by ocean.

What still needs human review

Rates change by season, port, carrier, fuel, and capacity.
Duties, taxes, and product compliance can change the true landed-cost calculation.
